About the Book

Children are living in appalling conditions in Lebanon since the outbreak of war in July 2006. This collection of writing and drawings – from some of the world’s leading authors and artists – is for them. Lebanese writers and artists Etel Adnan and Zena el-Khalil, among others, are joined by the likes of John Berger, Mahmoud Darwish, David Shrigley and Ali Smith, as reflections on Lebanon are intertwined with ruminations on the nature of war, memory and childhood. A timely interjection on its original date of publication, Lebanon, Lebanon continues to resonate in the contemporary moment.
