Shipping

What delivery options do you offer (UK)?

UK orders are sent via Royal Mail tracked 24hr and 48hr for small and large parcels. You will receive tracking information once the order has been shipped.

What will I be charged for shipping (UK)?

Prices will vary depending on the weight of the order and service selected.

What delivery options do you offer (international)?

For our customers outside of the UK, we offer standard tracked shipping via Royal Mail International I services. You will receive your tracking information once your order has been shipped.

What will I be charged for shipping (international)?

International shipping rates are calculated at checkout. Costs are calculated depending on delivery destination and order weight. Please note customs and postal regulations in some EU and non-EU countries may lead to local duties for which we cannot be held responsible.

How long will it take for my order to be shipped (international)?

International delivery times vary depending on location. Please note that our international orders may be subject to delays at customs, which may impact delivery times.

  • Orders to Europe can take up 5 working days
  • Worldwide delivery can take up to 7 working days

What information do I need to supply to ensure delivery?

Please ensure that the delivery details are correct before placing an order. If an address is incorrect or incomplete your order may not be delivered successfully, which we cannot be held responsible for. Orders addressed to a PO Box number must include a complete street address to ensure successful delivery.

Pre-Orders

I have pre-ordered a book. How will I know when it is going to arrive?

When you pre-order a book, you will receive a confirmation email. The book will be shipped approximately a week prior to the publication date (which is given on the book’s page on our website) so that you will receive the book as close to the actual publication date of the book; you will receive a confirmation email that your order has been dispatched. Please see shipping times (above) to calculate when your book will arrive.

I need to change my address, is this possible?

We will take payment at point of purchase.

I need to change my address, is this possible?

Orders for books that are in stock are automatically sent to our fulfilment partner. This means it may not be possible to change the delivery address. However, we would advise that you write to weborders@saqibooks.com as soon as possible to see if we can correct this for you. Changes to the delivery address can be made where a title is pre-ordered, however.

Returns

Can I cancel an order?

Orders for products that are available for immediate shipping (‘in stock’) are sent to our fulfilment partner as soon as the order is placed, and in most cases cannot be cancelled. However, we will try to accommodate your request. Kindly email weborders@saqibooks.com with your order number and your reason for cancellation in the subject line.

Do you accept returns?

You can request a return within 14 days of delivery. We do not offer free returns, so you will need to pay the cost of postage if you have changed your mind on a recent purchase.

If the item you have bought is damaged, please take a photo and send this to us via email. Please contact weborders@saqibooks.com with requests.

Where shall I post my items for return?

Returns should be sent to our distribution centre (address below). Before you post a return, please notify us with the relevant order number so that we can help provide the correct information for your order.

How will I be refunded?

Your refund will be processed to you via your original method of payment. Once your refund has been processed, it may take between 3 to 5 working days to appear in your account.

eBook Orders

I need help accessing my eBook files. Who do I speak to?

eBooks are available as either ePUB or MOBI files, which cannot be read with Microsoft Word or Adobe Acrobat Reader. In order to read your eBooks, you must have an eBook reading app or programme installed on your device. For any eBook queries, please get in touch with us at weborders@saqibooks.com and we will be happy to help.

Christmas Orders

By when should I purchase in order to receive books and products by Christmas?

We recommend making your order(s) by 13 December to ensure delivery in time for Christmas. Kindly note that these dates are for guidance only. We cannot guarantee delivery dates in case of any delays beyond our control.

Will orders placed between Christmas and New Year be shipped in the same timeframe as normal?

Our fulfilment centre will be closed from Tuesday 24 December for the holidays. Any orders placed from 23 December through to the New Year will be dispatched once they reopen on 2 January.

Is the weborders@saqibooks.com email address monitored during the holidays?

Our office is closed between Christmas and New Year. Any emails sent to weborders@saqibooks.com will be reviewed at the start of the New Year.

General

By when should I purchase in order to receive books and products by Christmas?

Some of the books listed on the website are marked as ‘Out of Stock.’ For some of our titles this means that we are either reprinting or awaiting a new delivery. We recommend you check our website again in a couple of weeks or if you cannot wait, please do consider ordering the eBook or requesting the book from another bookshop, such as Bookshop.org.

Where are the rest of my order?

If you have ordered multiple titles and one is unavailable at the time of purchase, your order will be processed as usual with any remaining titles shipped once they are back in stock. This may result in multiple deliveries. If you have only received part of your order and have any queries about the rest of your order, please contact weborders@saqibooks.com with your order number.

Do you publish or sell books in Arabic?

Since the Al Saqi bookshop’s closure in 2022, we no longer have a physical bookshop. However, you can browse all Saqi titles on our website. Our books are stocked in bookshops worldwide – please enquire with the stores directly if you want to purchase a Saqi title from them.

I am an academic looking to speak about inspection copies. Who do I speak to?

Please email your request to inspections@saqibooks.com including full details of your institution, course name and course enrolment.

I am looking to speak to Saqi about a wholesale order. Who do I speak to?

If you are a bookshop or events coordinator looking to secure books on a wholesale model, please send your queries to sales@saqibooks.com.
