We warmly invite you to an evening of creativity and conversation in celebration of the publication of Narrative Threads: Palestinian Embroidery in Contemporary Art. Join author, artist, and founder of The Tatreez Circle, Joanna Barakat, for a special tatreez session honouring this rich cultural tradition.
The Tatreez Circle, Joanna’s vibrant platform, is dedicated to preserving and uplifting the art of Palestinian embroidery – tatreez – as a living expression of heritage, resilience and identity. Her debut book, Narrative Threads, brings this timeless practice into dialogue with contemporary art, offering fresh perspectives on how embroidery continues to tell Palestinian stories.
Guests are warmly encouraged to bring along their own embroidery projects. The evening will offer a unique opportunity to connect with fellow artists and enthusiasts, exchange techniques, and reflect together on the motifs and stitches explored in Narrative Threads.
Copies of the book will be available for purchase and signing on the night.
