Waterstones Canterbury, 8 Rose Lane

The British deposed Nawab Nazim from his kingdom in 1880. The family tale which then unfolded included a spell in England, a scandalous muslim marriage to a chambermaid, farming in the Australian outback, and eventually a certain Lyn Innes, much loved University of Kent Emeritus Professor of Postcolonial Literature and author of the pioneering History of Black and South Asian Writing in Britain (2002). Lyn will be speaking at this event about her family history and reading from her book The Last Prince of Bengal.

Tickets are £5, redeemable against the price of the book.
