Richmix, 35-47 Bethnal Green Rd, London E1 6LA
Join us for Smashing It, a night celebrating and empowering working-class artists, writers and performers.
Working-class artists are hugely under-represented in the arts industries, facing extra challenges from unpaid work to prejudice, though they make up a third of the British population. How can we overcome this cycle of inequality?
On the night, the most exciting creators and visionaries working today will perform their work, offering tips and personal insights. Hear directly from those forging a career in the arts industry as they share how they overcame obstacles, from the financial to the philosophical, to create the work they are passionate about.
Featuring poet and playwright Sabrina Mahfouz, editor of Smashing It: Working Class Artists on Life, Art and Making It Happen. Full line up coming soon.
For the chance to have a 15 minute 1-to-1 with a professional working in film/TV/theatre/publishing before the performance begins, email firstname.lastname@example.org.
