Retracing the steps chronicled in Nelson’s biography of Funk Wally Funk’s Race for Space, the two women will recount Wally Funk’s historical experience as one of the Mercury 13—a  group of female pilots who trained to be astronauts in 1961, only to have their spaceflight ambitions crushed when the programme was shut down.
